Triple Sci - Raison D'être

(!) - Not every company needs another FT sales resource right now

It has become clear to me over the last five or six years that there are many equipment providers or solutions companies working in the pharma and biomedical research space both large and small who don't (yet) need an additional full-time salesperson - and I aim to fulfill a role to select clients in providing some additional lead-finding capacity and or sales via my extensive network of connections and wide knowledge of the industry - via a simple finders fee or commission as appropriate.
I also travel regularly within the UK and Republic of Ireland

Personal Background

Commercial Experience

My name is Ben Mantle. I have been an active life sciences researcher for over a decade (2003-2013) - and therefore with many years of R&D and development project experience utilising analytical equipment, high grade research reagents, plus a panoply of consumables - along with involvement in tendering and procurement of cap-ex equipment - it felt like a very natural move to thereafter switch across to the commercial arena!

In 2013 I took on a Business Development Executive role with Novus Biologicals Ltd (Cambridge UK). Later acquired by the Bio-Techne group. Novus Biologicals Ltd **the European branch** was a small regional division and therefore all positions therein were somewhat multifunctional – my own was a mix of marketing, technical specialist and business development - both customer relationship building and transactional sales. That position allowed me to gain a greater understanding and feel for the business somewhat quicker than a pure sales role within a larger organisation might have.

October 2014 – July2018 As well as working with some smaller clients including Aptamer Group (York, UK) - I primarily worked with the Danish company Chemometec, both indirectly via my services company and later directly [non-exclusively] where I was promoted to be Country Manager for the UK & Ireland leading a small local country team - sales & support.
I am currently seeking new FT/PT opportunities

Technical Skillsets (first hand experience)

I am an experienced molecular and cell biologist. I have a broad knowledge of biochemistry and the biosciences generally. From Microscopy and HCA to Flow Cytometry, as well as PCR/QPCR analysis, protein expression expertise - from pilot scale to large fermenter grows, Medium pressure and HPLC chromatography systems, ELISA assay development, metabolic activity radio-assays to molecular cloning, drug discovery, target validation, nucleic acid-protein binding studies, cell signalling, functional assays, high-throughput screening, liquid handling robotics and high-throughput compound handling – I have covered quite a variety of skillsets between diverse roles. R&D roles included Leeds University, Neusentis, Pro-Cure Therapeutics, Bradford University, Systagenix Wound Management

On the more QA, GLP, and industrial side – I have developed and validated various test methods, carried out clinical trial work and data analysis. I have also initiated and project-managed several early-stage research projects as well as playing a significant role in large continuous improvement projects (LEAN).

All in all, I have experience from most stages of life science R&D, from academic research projects through to academic-industrial knowledge-transfer units- liaising with Multinational clients. Plus spinout companies and applied pharmaceutical research, as well as medical devices R&D –including clinical trials and the CE marking process.
